Hello Jorge,
thanks for your reply. I am not a specialist, but a read-only svn could (maybe) be the first step towards that direction without having to fear that there is too much confusion. Sorry for being that impatient, but could you tell us, what "midterm" means? 
I heard of potential programmers who are really willing to contribute, but who are not able to do so because of the current situation. Nevertheless, I m sure that the gvSIG-team took the right line with the decision to become part of the osgeo. FOSSGIS projects will become more sustainable and more powerful with that foundation as the basis.
