[Gvsig_english] gvSIG for forest GIS

Hi there

I will be in Girona too and would be very interested in getting to know the capabilities of SEXTANTE when combined with gvSIG for the specific case of forestry. I intend to use them both along with QGIS and GRASS for my Ph.D. project in the Bolivian Amazon, where am going to be using satellite imagery to analyse a range of things (e.g. diffuse changes such as selective logging, fragmentation patterns, etc.). I must admit I am pretty much a newbie to FOSS4G as so far have used mainly commercial tools such as ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS and MapInfo.

Best regards.

Jaime

Sounds great, I'm looking forward to seeing it. I specifically
handled our corporate research vegetation inventory datasets and all
associated stand dynamics data, etc. So to see it from your
perspective will be really really interesting.
