[Gvsig_english] clip postGIS polyline layer

I'm a new user of gvSIG 1.1.1, and I thank the developers for the
excellent work they are doing. I have been trying to run it in two
situations: Windows (Vista), and Linux (Ubuntu 7.10).

I am aware that Vista is not presently supported, but I find that gvSIG
works just fine for vector data in Vista, including Sextante. As noted
in a previous thread, however, gvSIG crashes in Vista when adding an
image file layer is attempted. So that means I turn to Linux.

In Ubuntu 7.10, most of the functions of gvSIG 1.1.1 seem to work as
they should. Both vector and raster layers can be added and
manipulated. I am using postGIS and am able to add layers successfully,
including using gvSIG to create and edit new layers which are stored in
postGIS.

However, one situation where I cannot get gvSIG to behave as I expect is
when I attempt to use a polygon layer to clip a polyline layer which is
stored in postGIS. When I try this, I get a message saying "Result
layer is empty. Check for a possible error." Both polyline and polygon
layers were created and edited as new postGIS layers in gvSIG in the
same view, so I don't believe this problem is due to an error in the
data format. (The clip works properly if the layers are exported to
shapefile.)

Is this a reproducible bug? If not, any suggestions for the cause?

Thanks,
Joe
