[Gvsig_english] Problem when opening a project, when datasource-path has changed

Hi all!

Starving to see the v2 of gvsig.

I read the answers about the Wolfgang question.

I have a suggestion... I mention before i think.

The most frustrating thing in arcview 3 is the where is... where is... so please DO NOT use this method. We have to manualy change the path in notepad to avoid this drawback.

Instead, like in arcmap 9, when a link is missing, the project open correctly with the layers it can find the path. For those who can be found... a symbol "!" is place before the layer to tell the user that this shape haven't been find.

So if this file, with missing path, is no longer usefull you just delete it. If it is usefull, you have 2 choices. One to change the path of this file via "source" in propriety box. If you have more than one shape... you can use the repair data link who change all shp with the previous path to a new path.

But also... I HOPE you will include something, like in xtool for arcmap. It's a path listing and manipulation utility. You can change all the path by example if you move from D to F drive. You can change a group of files path.. or individual path... It's fast easy and verry verry usefull. The path are change in relation with the place they are in the files tree. If you change a directory path... all files and directories inside this directory take this new path... It's the most usefull feature I can hope for in gv_sig 2.

> Dear developers,
> I just noticed that you run into serious problems when one of your data-sources was moved to another folder and you try to re-open the gvSIG-project. I would expect that gvSIG tells me that something is missing, and prompts me to specify the new path to that (for example) shapefile. But gvSIG just prints out an error message. I could not find a hint in the logfile (attached).
> It would be really good (and important) to add a function that gives the user the option to specify the new/correct path of the datasources that have been moved. Please think also about making it possible to hand over a project including shapefiles to some other persons on CD-ROM (relative path names...).
