[Gvsig_english] Use of Jython Console or Beanshell console?

Hi Guys,

Can anyone point me to a tutorial or manual explaining how Jython or 
BeanShell can be used to interrogated a shapefile and manipulate the data?

Can these scripting languages...

a) access, manipulate and save geospatial data files?
b) interact with the gvSIG program?
c) Call java libraries, functions, internal gvSIG routines?
