One initial comment. When installing the linux version I was presented with a<br>
request to supply the Java Directory. Most normal users will not know where<br>
this file is and this information is available in the gvSIG configuration file.<br>
It should be a simple task of checking the location and version of Java<br>
currently being used and only presenting a dialog/warning if the version is<br>
inappropriate or NavTable requires a more advanced version of Java - in which<br>
case the dialog will recommend installing a separate Java runtime for<br>
NavTable.<br>

Can NavTable and gvSIG operate under different versions of Java simultaneously?<br>
I would think this would be unwise even if they could. Considering gvSIG can't<br>
operate without Java why have this option in the install anyway. Shouldn't the<br>
install routine indicate that NavTable needs a more advanced version and offer<br>
to install a newer version and point gvSIG and NavTable to the new Java<br>
version? maybe this is what the installer would do but this was unclear.<br>
