Hi,

thanks, for your helpful answers.
I have still problems with the shaded relief tool and I'm looking for help. Sometimes I can use it without getting an error message, but then the result is only black and white. Sometimes I get the error message "es.unex.sextante.exeptions.GeoAlgorithmExecutionExeption", which I don't understand. Once I managed to get a real hillshade, but it was only for a single tile of the DEM and even if I run the same algorithm from the history again, I get now an error. I tried all the different options in the raster output, but it seems to me like the tool does what it wants.
Is there any important presetting or anything else I have to consider?

Regards,
Tegir

Von: "Ruth Schönbuchner" <r.schoenbuchner@hotmail.de>
Gesendet: 20.05.2011 10:40:41
An: gvsig_internacional@listserv.gva.es
Betreff: Re: [Gvsig_english] Hillshade and others DEM question

Sorry, I did post the wrong URL in my last post (see below)
Best regards,
Ruth

[2] http://www.mail-archive.com/gvsig_internacional@listserv.gva.es/msg02886.html

Ruth Schönbuchner
CSGIS
Email:ruth.schoenbuchner@csgis.de
Web: http://www.csgis.de

From: r.schoenbuchner@hotmail.de
To: gvsig_internacional@listserv.gva.es
Date: Fri, 20 May 2011 09:54:29 +0200
Subject: Re: [Gvsig_english] Hillshade and others DEM question

.ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;} .ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;} Dear Tegir,
you can find a hillshade tool in Sextante, a free Java Library that comes together with gvSIG 1.11.
Open the toolbox and navigate to "visability and lighting > shaded relief".
The official website of Sextante can be found at [1].
Regarding the second issue "profile" I am not sure if you did already create a profile with the Sextante tools (folder "Profiles" at the toolbox)?
To open the profile (histogram) again you can use the button "results" of the Sextante GUI.
Color ramps can be defined in the menu "color table" (raster tools in the menu bar of gvSIG) and should be found in the latest version of gvSIG.
Please find further information regarding the creation of an own "palette.xml" in this thread [2].
I hope I could give you some further details.
Best regards,
Ruth

[1] http://sextante.forge.osor.eu/
[2] http://sextante.forge.osor.eu/

> Date: Fri, 20 May 2011 00:14:47 -0700
> From: tegir@web.de
> To: gvsig_internacional@listserv.gva.es
> Subject: [Gvsig_english] Hillshade and others DEM question
>
> Hi,
> I'm new to gvSIG (use version 1.11), want to say hello and wonder, if there
> is a way to do a hillshade.
