Hi,<br><br>There are some substantial differences between all initiatives you mentioned. AFAIK, <span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span class="" title="Click for alternate translations">none of them</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">has the characteristics</span><span class="" title="Click for alternate translations">, intentions and</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">actions</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">performed</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">in parallel</span> like CE propose to do<span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">. <br>
<br></span></span>In my HUMBLE opinion, CE is not integrating contributors for gvSIG project. <span id="result_box" class="short_text" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">Noting</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">the progress of</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">the initiative</span></span>, CE don't want participate and follow some simple rules of gvSIG (documentation, check patches for core-developers (soon... maintainer and reviewers), user gvSIG-devel-list to coordinate changes, etc...) <span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">and decide</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">on a personal</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">and totally independent</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">way about the future of</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">the software. So, it is a fork.</span></span><br>
<br>I insist. There are no reason for a fork in the way gvSIG is open to change things, improve procedures, etc... <span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">The use</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">of English is</span> not <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">an excuse</span><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">. Here we are </span></span><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">talking</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">in English (</span><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">in my case, </span></span><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps"></span><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">trying to speak</span> in english</span><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps"> :P )</span><span class="" title="Click for alternate translations">.</span></span><br>
<br><span id="result_box" class="short_text" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">Having said that</span><span class="" title="Click for alternate translations">, </span></span><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">I find</span> only one sense <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">to</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">C</span>E<span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps"> inside gvSIG project. It is think about CE like </span></span>a group of people with freedom and independence, auto-organization, etc.. who develop components (such NavTable...), work together on some aspects (GUI, usability, fixing bugs), proposing changes, etc... After that they communicate all that to gvSIG project and try to integrating that. <br>
<br>So, please... <span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">If</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">the CE really</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">intends to</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">integrate resources</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">and collaborate with</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">gvSIG</span><span title="Click for alternate translations">, it should share</span><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps"> </span></span><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">tools</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">(mailing lists</span><span title="Click for alternate translations">, bug</span><span title="Click for alternate translations">-tracker,</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">etc.), </span></span><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">make</span><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps"> </span><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">direct proposals</span> <span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">for changes</span><span title="Click for alternate translations" class="hps">, work together, etc.</span></span> That's the way...<br>
<br>Please, think about it. <br><br> :-)<br><br>Regards!!!<br>Nacho V.<br><br><br><br><div class="gmail_quote">El 29 de junio de 2011 09:02, José Antonio Canalejo Alonso <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:jacanalejo@yahoo.es">jacanalejo@yahoo.es</a>></span> escribió:<br>

It is a very good one. Most of the people in gvSIG CE Team have been working hard to make gvSIG more international. They brought also new functionalities and funding to the official project. They are also members of gvSIG but they aren't in the gvSIG Association. They are not being promoted with the project.<br>
Let's talk in gvSIG terms:<br>- gvSIG= official project <br>- gvSIG Mini= unofficial gvSIG project<br>- gvSIG mobile=official project<br>- gvSIG EIEL= proyecto official sectorial<br>- gvSIG carreteras= gvSIG application (probably) official<br>
- gvSIG Fonsagua=gvSIG application<br>- NavTable=official extension of gvSIG<br>- gvSIG Sensor=official project<br>- official Communities: Argentina, Brasil, Rusia, Uruguay<br>- andere Communities: are
they "unofficial"? are they only communities?<br><span>- official events: organized with the gvSIG Association (<a href="http://www.gvsig.org/web/community/events/general-proced/" target="_blank">http://www.gvsig.org/web/community/events/general-proced/</a>). </span><br>
<span>- andere gvSIG events: are they "unofficial"? It seems these events are not being promoted with the project (<a href="http://www.gvsig.org/web/community/events/other_events_list/" target="_blank">http://www.gvsig.org/web/community/events/other_events_list/</a>)?? That's not good! :) Next week there is an important one (<a href="http://www.agit.at/" target="_blank">http://www.agit.at/</a>)</span><br>
- etc (there are more gvSIG projects,...)<br>Why do not add gvSIG Community Edition to this list? You can maybe define this project like an unofficial one or like gvSIG CE, trying to make gvSIG more international. We don't want to divide but to integrate: english is the right language
for that.<br>gvSIG CE will help to integrate contributors to gvSIG and that will also be positiv for the official project.<br>If we change the name, maybe it seems something similar like LibreOffice and OpenOffice. I think, we shouldn't change it, we're also gvSIG :)<br>
