Hello Sara, <br>
<br>
the current Java version, Java 8, that is included in gvSIG, doesn't
support ODBC connections. In that way it was possible to connect to
Access databases, but it's not possible now. If there's an entity
interested in financing that development it would be done. <br>
<br>
In addition, there's a way to load the data from the table in gvSIG,
that is exporting to DBF or CSV files previously. They can be added
as a point layer in gvSIG, using the coordinates of the table. <br>
<br>
There are two ways: <br>
<br>
1. Event layer: Here you can see how to do it:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://blog.gvsig.org/2018/02/01/gis-applied-to-municipality-management-module-8-2-creation-of-point-layers-from-tables-event-layers/">https://blog.gvsig.org/2018/02/01/gis-applied-to-municipality-management-module-8-2-creation-of-point-layers-from-tables-event-layers/</a>
<br>
You can export the event layer to shapefile later. <br>
<br>
2. Adding the table as layer: For that you can access to "Add
layer", then from the "File" tab you select the CSV or DBF file, and
you access to the "Properties" button. At the "Geometry" tab you can
select the fields with X and Y coordinates. Here you have a video
about that (it's in Spanish but it will be useful to find the
menus): <br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://youtu.be/SzIm7daWQsg?t=362">https://youtu.be/SzIm7daWQsg?t=362</a><br>
You can export the CSV or DBF layer to shapefile later. <br>
<br>
The DBF file can be edited later from gvSIG directly, and you can
edit its alphanumerical information. <br>
<br>
If you export it to shapefile you can edit it too. Here you can see
how to do it <br>

<br>
Best regards, <br>
Mario <br>

<div>I am currently working on a project in gvSig and I am
having some difficulties in establishing a link between the
program and a Access Database. The Access file contains fields

Coordinates. For every site I need a point introduced at the
corresponding coordinates, and the site name, type and
monument type as attributes. </div>

<div>Is there any way I can import the information in gvSig as a
table without having to introduce every bit of information

file? If gvSig does not support a connection with Access, what
would be the best solution for my problem?</div>
