Hi Milan,
indeed, you can use Python, BeanShell and JavaScript scripting 
languages. However:
- they don't provide a higher level API at the moment (standard gvSIG 
Java classes are called from the scripting language)
- the scripts must be launched from the GUI (so it's not possible to 
launch them from the command line).
For Python/Jython, the scripts can be typed in the scripting console 
(File->Scripting -> Jython Console), or they can be associated to 
toolbar buttons (see the Scripting Tutorial for details: 
http://www.gvsig.gva.es/fileadmin/conselleria/images/Documentacion/descargas/manuales/gvsig-1_0-scripting-tutorial-v2-en.zip).
