[Gvsig_english] gvSIG and RAM usage

Hi list,
I have installed gvSIG, version 1.0.2 on a Debian/sarge machine. I recently 
got some more RAM (now 1GB), but when starting gvSIG, RAM usage goes up to 
80% of total available memory - and I did not even make any complicated 
analysis work. It seems as if java eats up nearly all available ressources, 
and I am curious, whether other users observed this, too.
