[Gvsig_english] thematic maps with WFS standard (using MAPSERVER)?

Hi list

Do someone know how to create thematic maps with WFS standard (MAPSERVER)?

To realize thematic maps I need min and max , mean, standard deviation, 
sum of one or more feature type properties. Is it possible to calculate 
these data directly on server and then retrieved  the values on 
client-server?

I would appreciate any comment.
