[Gvsig_english] install java problem

Hi,
trying to install gvsig i encountered incompatibilities with java engine.
i had jre 6 and gvsig did't accept it and i installed jre 5 with 
everything (jai etc.) as 'reccomended' by gvsig installation.
that didn't work either. 
then i unistalled everything java in that testing machine and installed 
java 5 from scratch using the gvsig with jre..
even that didn't work.

now, even geoserver and other java apps are not responding. 

is there something i'm missing?
