Hi Wolfgang and all.

Yes, wolfgang, I'm afraid we must wait for it. I'm sorry if you expected
it in the next gvSIG 2.0.
Regarding the new version, it would be cool to know, what changes there
will be and when (beside symbology). Is it possible to get this info?
You can approximately get the gvSIG 2.0 new features in the project
roadmap by looking at the column "year 2008, 1st six months". I say
"approximately" because we are now doing a deep refactoring and some of
the features could fall off. On the other hand some new feature could
appear.
Basically it will have:
- A lot of new raster analysis tools.
- A brand-new symbology manager.
- Some improvements in: labelling (not sure), CAD edition,
geoprocessing, tables.
- New 3D tools.
- New network analysis tools.
When? This is the big question. As I said, we are doing a big
refactoring and we really can't give you a date now. We'll realase an
unstable version as soon as possible so you can test the new features.
And yes, it would be very good, if there would be someone somewhere, who
would improve the printing tools. I am no developer, but I could imagine
that this is quite complex, so...
And you should not forget that currently, developing for gvSIG is not so
easy because of language barriers (but this will be solved in the
future, I know.).,..
I add that PS because sometimes it seems that we forget gvSIG is an Open
Source project and that it is only developed or financed by the
Conselleria de Infraestructuras y Transporte (of course it wasn't meant
for you; sorry if you understood it this way). I only wanted to remind
the list that people (in general) doesn't have to wait for the
improvements. They just can develop it if they really need it. The fact
is that we have a long list of feature requests and we really don't know
when they will arrive. But you're right: this is not easy right now for
non-spanish speakers developers. This must be solved.
Regards,
Manuel.
