As far as I know, there won't be many improvements regarding this in 2.0

Yes. We have also a mapserver-version of that map. The "frame" around the map
soon will be enhanced and the service will be moved to a new server.
Therfore, the current map is a little bit slow. You will have to click a
little bit on the map to get a mor detailed view. Nevertheless, the link to
the map (if it does not work for you, please do not hesitate to contact me):
-->

Symbology and small scale labels of street names are shapefile geometries -
therefore, this will not be an issue for gvSIG. The only question is:
how-to-get all this on paper! Or - before that - into a file that can be
handed over to a professional printing service..

What about the developers and organizing-staff of the gvSIG software? Is
the "professional printing" already on your list? What is your estimation
regarding complexness and difficulty of implementing the desired
functionality?

Best,
Wolfgang
