Hello Carlos

sorry for the delay..

My PDA is a HTC P3300

THX MArco

Hello again Marco,

Seems to be the GPS library rxtx that works under gvSIG Mobile, has problems with your GPS device, what model of PDA have you got?

Hello Marco,

1) It Seems to be the installer the problem, we don't check on many Windows CE devices like your Topcon. So, if the new CE 5 J9 Java virtual machine works we can try some cheat.

First of all you have to be sure that the J9 works on your Topcon, for check it out, go to the J9/PPRO11/EXAMPLES/ and try to run GolfScoreTrackerApp. It is a simple golf application for test purposes.

Then if it works, I can send you a zip file with gvSIG Mobile that you have to unzip and then copy just at the root path on your device. Then try to run gvSIG Mobile application. I'll be waiting your answers.

2) With the PDA GPS Problem we are checking on it, seems that the GPS receives some kind of bad data NMEA, may be your device has another GPS program like TomTom installed (this programs gets the GPS port and don't let others programs use it correctly) . We'll tell you more if we found out where is the problem.

Regards.

Asunto: [Gvsig_english] gvsig Installation problem

Hello,

1) seems there is no way to let gvsig mobile work on my Topcon... But are the versions of Gvsig available on the site, compatible with Windows CE 5?

The message displayed is always the same "Prodevelop - UV - CIT gvSIG Mobile was not installed successfully. Please run Setup again." And the setup does not start at all.

The new version of Java for CE seems to work, and the receiver support .cab file. I don't know what can be the problem.

I just noticed that before set-up fails, appear for less than one second a window with written:

Name: Gvsig

Type: <--here is blank

2) For the problem with PDA I attached to the e-mail the log file requested. Anyway the GPS antenna is integrated so the Bluetooth connection problem can be excluded.

Thank you

Regards

Marco
