Hello, Luis.

After connecting the GPS, can you see the coordinates showing in the status bar?

Your HTC has integrated GPS or are you using bluetooth + external GPS?

Perhaps the application is showing a wrong message. Before you can add points to a layer, you have to set it to "editing mode" by checking the editing checkbox in the TOC. See this manual (page 53) for details:

No, the COM port is not being used by no other aplication. :(
