Hi Adam,
The latest available version of Phone cache extension for gvSIG [1] only allows tile downloads of the services in the drop down list. Otherwise, version 1.0.0 of gvSIG Mini allows automatic tile downloads from the device (of course you need Internet connection), the problem is that in the published version, only OSM tile servers are allowed to massive tile downloading, although it would be easy to hack the code to allow your (any) WMS server.
If your layer is not too big, you can mount a WMS server (I recommend you to use EPSG:4326 or EPSG:900913), and add the layer to gvSIG Mini [2]. Then you can display the layer in gvSIG Mini and the tiles will be stored in the SD card as you pan/zoom the map (tiles are stored in /sdcard/gvSIG/maps/name_of_the_layer).
You can also try to manage to create tiles of your layer with another software, and then copy them to the SD card, on the folder that gvSIG Mini creates for your layer (you should respect the format in which them are stored).

Asunto: [Gvsig_english] gvSig Mini Phone Cache
Hello,
I have an aerial photo of the county in Minnesota were I live.
The image is UTM Zone 15N NAD83 1 meter resolution.
Is it possible to use PhoneCache to create tiles of this photo for use in GvSIG mini?
Or is PhoneCache only for the GIS layers from the Available services drop down list?
If it is possible to create tiles. Could someone please explain to me how to do this? I also have ArcGIS and Erdas GIS software to change the coordinate system of the image. I can also display it via WMS or ArcIMS server.
I just want to be able to create the tiles to use in GvMini.
Please advise.
