Hello,

Try to rename your georeference files to <filename>.wld, and you'll be able to open them in gvSIG Mobile, but they can only be opened if they are small images. In which device are you running gvSIG Mobile?

I'm sorry there is no alternative to ECW in gvSIG Mobile for large images.

Hi, Juan.

My restriction is actually bureaucratic. The permission to use new software tools on the preject I am working can take two weeks. It is necessary because all the export process is automatic and hidden from the final user. That's why I am looking for an alternative to external software. The authorized softwares are precisely GeoMedia WebMap and gvSIG.

Regards,

Edson

Hello, Edson. The package FWTools is free and open source, and can create ECW files. See details and how to use it here:

Thank you for the reply, Juan.

Is there other way to show raster on gvSIG mobile than ECW? I have tested JPEG files with a world file (jpgw) and it works fine on Desktop version. But using the very same files on gvSIG mobile, the image is positioned at (0,0). The restriction I have is the licensed software used to export the images that will be shown on mobile version. It does not export images with embedded metadata, such as ECW and GEOTIFF.

Regards,

Edson Cunha

Hello, you're right, it's not possible to extend the available SRS in gvSIG Mobile 0.2 and 0.3. We plan to include this feature in gvSIG Mobile 1.0.

As for now, you'll have to reproject your data to EPSG:32723 or EPSG:4326. You can do it easily for raster (recommended ECW) or vector (recommended: SHP) :

Dear list,

gvSIG mobile has a small set of available projection configurations (EPSG catalog). I need to use SAD69, SIRGAS2000 or Córrego Alegre datum (e.g., EPSG:22523 <http://spatialreference.org/ref/epsg/22523/> , EPSG:29193 <http://spatialreference.org/ref/epsg/29193/> ), but they are not present on that set.

Is it possible to add new prjection configurations on gvSIG mobile? Is it expected to work properly just by adding this new configuration to its local repository (a XML file, for example)? I have looked at the source code and noticed that there are several hard coded verifications, so I'm afraid it will not work just by adding this new configuration.

Kind regards,

Edson Cunha
