Sorry, colleagues - I succeeded with solving my problem!

1. apt-get install ia32-sun-java6-bin (installed)

2.   update-alternatives --config java
There are 5 alternatives which provide `java'.

 Selection    Alternative
-----------------------------------------------
          1    /usr/bin/gij-4.3
          2    /usr/lib/jvm/java-gcj/jre/bin/java
*         3    /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
 +        4    /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/bin/java
          5    /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun/jre/bin/java

-> left unchanged.

3. Modified gvSIG.sh (calling directly 32 bit java - alternative "5")

/usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib:/opt/gvsig-oade-2010-1.0.0/libs -cp
andami.jar$LIBRARIES -Xms${INI_HEAP}M -Xmx${MAX_HEAP}M
com.iver.andami.Launcher gvSIG gvSIG/extensiones "$@"

4. Started gvSIG
5. Succeeded to load my previously prepared and saved files (latvia.gvp)

Up to the moment - have no problems.

Thank you all !!!

Janis.
