Well at this moment our stable version is 1.9, but we are close to the
release of a final version for 1.10, as we are right now on Release
Candidate cycle. Then 1.10 will be the official stable version of gvSIG
Desktop.

You can read more about release cycles on free software at the great
book from Karl Fogel "Producing Open Source Software"[1] (it's a very
worth read).
