[Gvsig_english] gvSIG mobile WMS offline

Hello,
Thanks for the comment, Jukka.
The result is a single TIFF image?
If that's the case, Chris can convert it to ECW with this command:

gdal_translate -of ecw image.tif image.ecw

and use it in gvSIG Mobile.

Hi,

We did the off-line use with uDig by making a small tool so that the user can draw a rectangle with uDig and then uDig is downloading image data with gdal_translate through gdal WMS-driver
(http://gdal.org/frmt_wms.html)
Gdal saves the image in geotiff format and thus it is georeferenced and simple to use off-line. We considered to download imagery from WCS instead of WMS but all our image providers do not have WCS service. Gdal supports also https and basic authentication which are needed for our WMS. It should be easy to make a similar download tool for gvSIG. I am not sure about gvSIG Mobile.

Dear community,

I am working on a project to collect biotope data.
Therefore a WebGIS will be implemented where biologists can upload their
collected data
(shapefiles with standardized attributes). In order to help them to comply
with the attribute standards
and to effectively collect field data I am looking for a mobile GIS that
provides the following features:

Shape Editing
Costum attribute forms
WMS Support incl. offline usage (cache)

gvSIG can meet the former two criteria, but as far is I know, there is no
support for offline capability of WMS.

Is there a way to make it work (e.g. extension) or is this feature planned
for future releases?
If not ... do you know any product that meets all three criteria?

regards, Chris
