Hello, Chris,

gvSIG Mobile cannot cache WMS data in a way that is useful to you. All
requested images are stored, but that would only work if you used only
previous view locations (using only "previous zoom" or "next zoom",
which is not very functional)

One possible solution is creating a single ECW image that covers your
area of interest and use it as background instead of the pre-cached
WMS images.

The WMS server you are talking about is publicly available? What's the URL?
