I think you mean this one (http://www.osor.eu/projects/gvsigps).
It's an improvement from Castilla y Leon development for gvSIG 1.1.2 to gvSIG 
1.9. Renato (Geocuba) told here

 that it will possible to read the current position from GPS in a gvSIG View. He 
says they are working now on it.

Does it work with all GPS devices?
Does it allow for the reading of the current position from GPS device
or only waypoints?
