Hello, I don't have much experience with the custom forms,
but I think the custom forms do not manage default values set in the form itself, I'm sorry.
We'll try to improve that in future versions.

Hello All,

How is it possible to set a default value to a field using a Personal Form XML?

I'm trying to use text="value wanted" inside the textfield tag , but it ain't working. But... it kinda works when I open the XML in ThinG GUI editor.

Can anyone confirm if it works with you?
