Hello,

CartoLab just released the 1.0 Beta version of gvSIG-EIEL [1] (The web
is only in spanish actually).

gvSIG-EIEL is a tool that allows in a simple and comprehensive way
manage all the processes concerning the Spanish Survey of Local
Infrastructure and Equipment (EIEL). Consists of a series extensions
packaged as a single distribution of gvSIG. Some of these extensions
are specific to working with the EIEL as a tool that allows validation
of data or custom forms, while others hope will be useful to the
community gvSIG, so also are distributed independently.

The source code repositories [2] and the executables [3] can be
accesed from the project's website.

The application is distributed in two different ways for the
convenience of users:

1.- As an all in one. It is a portable version of gvSIG 1.10 where the
extensions of gvSIG-EIEL are already added. This is the recommended
option especially for those interested in the project EIEL.

2.- A zip file with all the extension. This is a zip file containing
all the binaries of the extensions. To use this method, the previous
versions of this extensiones must be removed from the extension folder
of gvSIG. The extensions provided in this zip are OpenCADTools,
NavTable, ELLE, DBConnection, EIELTables, EIELForms, EIELValidation.
You can get more information about the characteristics of each
extension on this page [1].

gvSIG-EIEL is designed to work on a particular model of data stored in
a PostGIS database. It has also provided a set of test data as a sql
file that must be run on PostGIS database previously created.

Among the utilities designed for the entire community stands to
publish a new version of OpenCADTools [4]. This is an extension that
comes to replace the CAD tools that brings gvSIG default. OpenCADTools
has new tools (Rescanning lines and polygons, the possibility of
multigeometrías ...), usability changes (delete last vertex by right,
end of issue with the space key), and new features (tracking
geometries, detection scanning order for the launch event, such as
opening form for example)

Both OpenCADTools as gvSIG-EIEL have two separate user manuals (in
spanish actually) to explain their basic use. [5] [6]. These manuals
have also more specifically instructions about how to install it.

gvSIG-EIEL has been made possible through the collaboration of many
people and entities, and has the active participation of the gvSIG
Association. We highlight the support from the spanish public
administration Diputación de Pontevedra and the support of the
Dirección Xeral de Sostenibilidade e Paisaxe de Consellería de Medio
Ambiente, Territorio e Infraestructuras de la Xunta de Galicia, which
has funded some of the work and have actively collaborated in its
development. In the project website [1] can find more information.

We have designed new functionalities that will be integrated this year
in successive versions, such as a printer module that is developing
map gvSIG Association also funded by the Diputación de Pontevedra, so
any suggestions or issues that we would get yourselves useful to make
efficient this application.

Sincerely,
