[Gvsig_english] gvSIG 1.11 export layer to PostgreSQL/PostGIS

You are in dealing with coordinates in Tanzania, is that correct?
 
The coordinates of the town of Same (Tanzania) in geographic WGS84 (also known as EPSG:4326) are approx.:
(37.727332,  -4.081323)
 
The coordinates of the town of Same (Tanzania) in EPSG:32737 (WGS84, UTM projection, zone 37S) are approx.:
(360000, 9550000)
 
There is another strange thing in your data. The geometries in the table "st" have an absurd value:
(500000 2035.0569780916)
 
That seems to be the result of a bad reprojection (for example trying to reproject from EPSG:32737 to EPSG:4326 something that was already in EPSG:4326, and then reprojected again to EPSG:32737, or something like that)
 
I think you are not using correctly the coordinate systems.
 
Considering that you are very close to the Equator and you are using GPS, perhaps it's better to use always EPSG:4326 in your gvSIG views.
 
Can you send an example of the data you get from the GPS? Does your GPS create shapefiles?
 
The data you get from your GPS is probably in EPSG:4326, although maybe that device talks about 37S because the GPS shows you in its screen the map in EPSG:32737.

that is WGS 84, EPSG:32737 (37 S)

at least everything else works for this projection. It's what my view is set
to, it's what my shapefiles say, it's what my GPS says...
