[Gvsig_english] VERY IMPORTANT: Serious problem with Yahoo Mail subscribers

Dear users,

some weeks ago Yahoo changed their security policies applied to incoming mail, and there are problems in all list services around the world because of that, including gvSIG mailing lists.

This new policy causes that the emails that are sent to a mailing list will be labelled as spam by email providers that use certain security systems. It causes the rejection from the list in providers like Google, Microsoft and Yahoo when it's sent from a Yahoo mail address.

In some cases, these rejections make subscribers providers like gmail, hotmail, etc, are removed from the list due to the errors.

In the gvSIG lists there are a lot of users who have mail addresses on these providers, and we have received emails from users that had automatically unsubscribed during the last weeks.

If Yahoo does not change its policy again, the only way to fix this problem is to not allow mails from yahoo to the mailing list.

Therefore, two SOLUTIONS are proposed:

    1. Replace the yahoo account by other one at the mailing list from http://listserv.gva.es/cgi-bin/mailman/options/gvsig_internacional, logging in with your email address and password (the option to remember password is at the same page).

    2. If you wish to receive emails from the list in the yahoo address, you can keep this address, and register a new non-yahoo address, selecting the option not to receive emails, and then sending emails to the list only from this address.

On the other hand, we encourage subscribers to contact Yahoo to complain about their new security policies.
