Journal of Open Geospatial Data, Software and Standards
a SpringerOpen Journal, ISSN: 2363-7501
Open Geospatial Data, Software and Standards (http://www.opengeospatialdata.com/)
provides an advanced forum for the science and technology of open data, crowdsourced
information, and sensor web through the publication of reviews and regular research
papers. The journal publishes articles that address issues related, but not limited to,
the analysis and processing of open geo-data, standardization and interoperability of
open geo-data and services, as well as applications based on open geo-data. The journal
is also meant to be a space for theories, methods and applications related to
crowdsourcing, volunteered geographic information, as well as Sensor Web and related
topics.
The journal is published by Springer Verlag and serves as a focal point for academicians,
professionals, graduate and undergraduate students, fellows, and associates pursuing
research throughout the world. The relevance of an international journal on Open Geo-Data
and Geosensor Web is supported by the fact that open geo-data is not only related to more
democracy and transparency in governance, but it is
also a means to promote various economic and social opportunities.
The first issue of journal aims to publish high quality review articles discussing the
state-of-the-art for various relevant subjects in GIScience domain that fit into the
scope of the journal. Such topics include: (and are not limited to)
- Geo-sensor web technology
- Crowdsourcing and Volunteered Geographic Information
- Geo-Web 2.0
- Human computer interfaces and usability for Open GI services
- Linked geo-data and sematic web technology for Geo-informatics
- Quality of Open Geospatial data
- Open Geo-spatial Science and Standards
- Open Spatial Data Infrastructures
- Next generation GeoWeb: technologies, standards and emerging topics
- Big Geo-data storage, processing and analysis
- Architectures and frameworks for open source data and software
- Standardization and interoperability of open geo-data and services
- Location-based Services
- Internet of things
The interested contributors are highly encouraged to submit a one page proposal including
topic and abstract via e-mail to editorial at opengeospatialdata.com<https://wwwmail.urz.uni-heidelberg.de/horde/imp/message.php?index=7201#> before 15th of May
2015. Submissions later than this date would not be considered. The board would review
and select the most relevant proposals and announce the results no later than 1st of June
2015. Authors of selected proposals would then have 3 months time to complete their
article and submit to the journal.
There are a number of editorial waivers available for submissions to Open Geospatial
Data, Software and Standards in 2015. Requesting a waiver during submission will ensure
the article-processing charge is waived. All articles published by Open Geospatial Data,
Software and Standards are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon
publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers.
