I registered the webinar gvSIG of August 3, 2016 .
But I am not able to follow the (employment problem of the time ...).
I wonder if it will be possible for me to get the contents of this presentation ?
It is planned to record and to broadcast the form of video , at least for registrants ?

Mario,

While you're on, I thought I might ask a couple of questions.

For background, I am registered for tomorrow and am a seasoned (if rusty)
GIS user having used ArcGIS and earlier ArcView. I did a research masters
2003-2006 using of GIS for archaeology (Irish linear earthworks). I am now
retired (aged 70) and can only afford free GIS programs now, hence my
interest in Gvsig.

I am unsure if it's a hand-on session, so I downloaded the latest version
of Gvsig (& extensions) so I'd be ready to try out whatever you suggest. Is
it hands-on or just a talk/demo with questions?

I read something that seemed to suggest that Gvsig has not been tested in
Windows 10 yet. In fact, just from a first quick look, I noted some
problems with dialogue boxes and small windows not being refreshed
properly. Is this a known problem in Windows 10?

Hi Peter,

I think the best option would be to follow the live webinar, asking your 
doubts at the chat (there will be a colleague answering them), and after 
that you can watch it on the gvSIG Youtube channel, and do the same 
exercises in gvSIG (we will attach a link to download the cartography). 
If you have any doubt then you can ask at the mailing list and we can 
answer here.

In reference to the other question, there are a lot of users that are 
using gvSIG in Windows 10, and they haven't had any problem, they are 
working on it. Could you send us some screenshot about the problem? We 
will try to solve it.

I just tested the newest version gvSIG 2.3 RC2 .
First, a big thank you for all this work because I have seen many developments in the application.
By cons , for 3D I have not found how to extrude a shapefile ...
Is expected on this version of gvSIG ?

About your question...no, it's the only new feature not included yet in 
the RC2...we're finishing several bugs to integrate in the 2.3 distribution.

It should work with gvSIG 1.12.10-1417-final (see your email of 21 January
2015 enclosed). However, I cannot use it anymore, because gvSIG 1.12 does
not seem to work on Windows 10?

Second step: I needed to transform the CRS from EPBS:4326 to EPBS:3068
(DHDN/SoldnerBerlin) to clip it with another layer after I will have
exported it from gvSIG.

Thanks a lot for the additional version. I tried to download the wfs data
also on another laptop while using Windows 7, instead of Windows 10, with
several versions of gvSIG for more than 10 hours at the weekend. However,
the versions from 2. on do not load it, and the versions 1. do load it
incomplete due to an elements buffer limit. When I extend the loading
elements buffer, it still does not complete the loading.

Do you have any chance to download the data and to send me the shapefile
and other data connected with it? I need to convert it from the original
EPBS:4326 or EPBS:25833 to EPBS:3068 to overlay it with other data from
the same server.

we've tried it in gvSIG 2.3 but elements are not loaded.

Have you contacted to the providers? They probably have that cartography 
in shape format available to download. Contact mail address that appears 
at the web service is fisbroker at senstadtum.berlin.de

Hi all,

if you weren?t able to follow the ?Getting started with gvSIG? and 
?Vector editing, 3D view and other tools in gvSIG? webinars, and you are 
interested in them, you can watch the videos now at the gvSIG Youtube 
channel.

The first webinar was oriented to see the main functionalities of gvSIG: 
how to configure settings, create a view and add layers, apply symbology 
and labelling, reproject layers, manage tables, and create a thematic 
map.

The second one was about how to edit vector layers and use geoprocessing 
tools, how to export the elements of a vector file in gvSIG to KML 
format and load it in Google Earth and how the 3D extension works.

The 12th International gvSIG Conference, organized by the gvSIG 
Association, will be held from November 30th to December 2nd 2016 in 
Valencia, Spain, under the slogan ?Know the territory. Manage the 
reality".

This year they will be held in a new location, the School of Engineering 
in Geodesy, Cartography and Surveying (Universitat Polit?cnica de 
Val?ncia).?More information about the conference rooms will be available 
at the event website soon.

Call for papers is now open. As of today communication proposals can be 
sent to the email address: conference-contact at gvsig.com; they will be 
evaluated by the scientific committee as to their inclusion in the 
conference program.

There are two types of communication: paper or poster. Information 
regarding to regulations on communication presentations can be found in 
the Communications section of the website [2]. Abstracts will be 
accepted until September 22nd.

Organizations interested in collaborating in the event can find 
information in the section: How to collaborate [3] .

I just tested the 2.3 RC3 version of gvSIG and I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to extrude a shapefile . 
This feature works very well .

It's not in the plan of the next releases, but this situation could be 
change if any organization is interesting in network extension and can 
put resources to do...

I tried installing the new gvSIG 2.3 RC3 on my computer which runs on windows 7, 32 bit operating system and have been encountering problems. Has anyone successfully installed it? What are the relevant steps?
