Bernadette, I am using gvSIG 2.4 portable version with Windows 10 64 bits without any problem. I would say that your problem is not with the Windows version but with other kind of origin. After you downloaded the 2.4 portable version (http://downloads.gvsig.org/download/gvsig-desktop-testing/dists/2.4.0/builds/2850/gvSIG-desktop-2.4.0-2850-final-win-x86_64.zip), unzipped it, with which file did you try to open it?

I have downloaded the portable version and placed it in a seperate folder with no spaces and still have the same issue. I am using windows 10 I noticed that the gvSIG is really only compatible with version 8 and below, is there a windows 10 version available?

You have to unzip it in a path without spaces and it doesn't have to be directly at c:\. For example you can create a "gvSIG" folder in C:\ and unzip the zip file at thatr folder.

I have attached all the log information you required. I'm not sure if you need all of them but better safe than sorry.

I really want to do this course, but cannot do anything until I can get this resolved. I have deleted the files and re-added them but still have the same issue.

Hi Bernadette,

could you send the log files after opening the portable version and
getting the error?

They are in a different folder than the installable version. At this
post you can see where it it:

Please zip the log files in a zip file to avoid big attachments at the
list.
