An on-the-fly list:
- faster execution.
  And specifically in Linux:
- better CUPS (printing) integration
- better integration with X (system fonts are now available)

And in the programmer side, we will benefit from the improvements in the 
version 1.5 of Java language, which are really welcome (generic types, 
metadata, enumerated types, etc).
