[Gvsig_english] Can I create custom symbols?

Hi list,
is it possible to create custom symbols for point layers, fill patterns for 
polygon themes? I know that images can be loaded as point symbols, but is it 
also possible to create new vector images (something like the north symbols 
mentioned in the FAQ [1])?
