[Gvsig_english] Intenral data format?

Just a curious question from a non-developer, does gvSIG have any  
sort of preferred data format?  Does it have a format that it uses  
internally to better represent features and relationships?

The discussion on OSGeo-Discuss list about proposed new formats got  
me wondering what some applications do internally.  Maybe my question  
makes no sense, but I thought I would ask :)
