Thanks Wolfgang!
Well, regarding point A, I recorded a video for the 3rd gvSIG
Conferences past November were I give some points about the comming
extended symbols, and legends. The video, I think, was distributed in
the DVD of the conferences and I thought that it was also published in
the web. But I took a walk around the website and I couldn't find any
reference to it.
Anyway, while we wait for the hole documentation about the conferences
to be published in the web I'll upload the video to YouTube this weekend
if possible. I'll send a message to the list if I'm successful.
I also want to highlight that we are working in full SLD support
including new types of legends based up on expressions which will allow
to handle natively the OGC Filter spec. And after it we will face the
support for ESRI's AVL files taking profit of the new extensible and
driver-based design for legend files.
This is regarding the symbols and legends. About the labels and
labelings well, I'm actually in debugging time and I want to record
another video demo regarding label placements with all the possibilities
(avoiding overlapping, place label in the best place depending on the
geometry type and shape, removing repeated labels (not yet implemented
but soon)) as well as label styles supporting SVG files (and also PNG,
GIF, JPEG) , label with multiple fields/texts calculated with
user-defined expressions, labels with priorities (not yet implemented
but after the "remove repeated" function), etc... I try to record it
very soon (next days)
Cheers!
Salut!
Best
