[Gvsig_english] Erasing parts of linear features

Hi all,

I was just wondering if there was a feature or a good workaround to 
allow one to make gaps in linear features on a map where they cross 
other features (such as points or labels, etc).

In pen-and-ink cartography, it is normal to erase part of a line where 
it crosses a point feature for a neat final result.

I know there is an option within gvSIG to try and avoid features 
touching, but it is not always effective in every case. I was wondering 
if there was an 'eraser' tool in the map composer somewhere where parts 
of lines could be erased as necessary?
