[Gvsig_english] copy geometries from one theme to another

Hi list,
a colleague of mine creates a map of contaminated sites. The geometry basis for this map is a map of land parcels (in German: Flurstücke). At the moment, work is done in ArcView, and what she does is the following:
when a new contaminated site is found, she *copies* the geometry of the underlying land parcels map feature and pastes that feature in the shapefile of the contaminated sites. Attributes of the copied feature are ignored, unless they fit 100% to the shapefile of the contaminated sites.
This feature (the possibility to copy geometries) saves much time. Therefore, I would like to ask the question, whether such a new tool is planned (or seen as useful).

Best,
Wolfgang

ps: of course, it would be possible to do the same thing with a workaround
1) select feature of source theme, create new layer from selection
2) merge selection-theme with target theme (keep attribute table of target theme)
3) rename result of 2) : name of target theme.

So maybe it would be a nice example for gvSIG's scripting capabilities (but how???)
