Virgilio,
It sounds like you have a projection's problem. Your layers are in 2 different projections; therefore, in two different places.
I think there is a extension (jCRS) for reprojecting your layers all to the same projection.

Subject: [Gvsig_english] Cant make a Layer show up with the rest
Hello everyone, this is my first message to this mailing list. I've been working for a couple weeks with gvSIG, I'm quite impressed by its quality and multiple funcionalities. I dont have enough experience with ArcGIS either, my question goes like this:
Got some shapefiles (.shp), add them to my view as layers and works fine, but got a couple (really important ones) that got their own layers, but wouldnt show up with the rest. Using the "Zoom to layer" on the renegades, the rest of the good layers vanish and the renegades show up. I have tried to join them, edit and transform and several unsuccesful ways. Im sure its pretty easy, but I havent found the right way. Any tips?
Virgilio
