Hello,

The Road Map is very outdated and we have not released yet a newer one. I just can advance you that a new release will be launched this november with basic vectorial editing, custom forms, GML, KML, GPX and export functions.

We don't have any plans for propietary GPS protocols, if you want to develop this drivers it could be useful for the project.

The active developpers right now are:

Pressing "X" doesn't close the application, but just minimize it (is the default behaviour in Pocket PCs). If you start gvSIG Mobile again, you will recover it just as you left it. Would you like gvSIG Mobile to ask before minimizing?


Of course, you can open Shapefiles stored in the storage card. Look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN1AMYr7NgI to see how to do it. Have you found the small button on the top-right corner? It shows a small help window with some information about what every button do.

We are working on an english manual but not in a german one. Fortunatelly there are language files to translate the application into german. Translating the manual into german could be a very good opportunity to support the project too.

What do you exactly mean by rough DTM modeling with GPS?

We want gvSIG Mobile to be able to log all the RAW data from location devices. It currently logs NMEA traces, you can do it from the GPS console.

Hallo

After studying gvSIG Mobile's Roadmap I would like to give some  
comments and put some questions:

Is any newer version of Mobile Roadmap available? ( I have downloaded  
10-3-2008 )
I am active ( as an advanced user and co-developer , surveyor) in the  
field mapping area since 1992, like we call it "Digital Plane Table"  
and we as a company are keen ( with programming force )  to contribute  
to the gv SIG Mobile idea
What is the best way to contribute?
Does anybody know how many people are actively contributing to the  
Mobile project?
Any surveyors among?
GPS Preference Protocol has currently "only" NMEA 0183 and plan for  
GPX and TSIP. Any plan to implement "proprietary" formats from Example  
Topcon, Leica, Javad, Sokkia,etc?
Connection Error Window ( while trying to connect with GPS device ) it  
comes a massage " Unsupported Comm Operatio" My suggestion is to make  
a window bit bigger to accommodate whole massage.
If user by accident press X in the upper right corner of the PDA, it  
should be ask if he really wont to close a program!
Can user import ( for example ) SHP file from any other program  
directly into Mobile ( over CF card or so ), without to go over gvSIG  
Desktop and his extension?
Any plans for a user manual in english and german?
Any plan to have only rough DTM modeling in Real Time together with GPS?
For a sake of keeping ROW data from, for example GPS, saved in a  
Database it will be good to output this data ( Fixing level, RMS,  
GDOP,PDOP, etc) in a different text formats as a kind of Protocol. Has  
something like this been planned?
