[Gvsig_english] new selection tool "buffer selection" - does it work? How?

Hi list,
does anybody know how to use that new "buffer selection" tool? In my 
case, gvSIG calculated something, but no new selection was visible?
I guess it's my fault (this time...). Any comments are welcome.
