Exact!!

Having standards like SLD, Web Map Context, GML and so on, still
relaying on privative formats is not a good idea at all if you don't
want to be in a classic vendor lock in.

I know this is easy to say and hard to implement, but these are to be
the kind of strategic decisions a good IT professional should try.
