FURTHER SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY IN PROJECTS & MENU SYSTEM

(a) It would be useful to group views, tables and maps in the project
manager or at least be able to move them up or down in the list so you
can make sense of large lists that have been created/added in an ad hoc
manner. For example, if you have monitoring sites that are numbered but
created a map for various sites based on proximity rather than number,
you may wish to shuffle the maps into logical order to make it easy to
maintain a project over several years.
(b) all options for a layer, table, map, etc that can be initiated from
the right-click context menu should be able to be chosen from the layer,
table or map drop-down menu in the main menu.
(c) icon size in the toolbars should be variable. I find the icons a
little small especially when using on a laptop. A good example of this
is the "move vertice" and "copy vertice" icons. These icons appear the
same -- although on closer inspection you can see a minor difference. If
the icons were 50% bigger most of the finer detail distinguishing
buttons would be obvious.
(d) A list of recently opened project files available in the main menu
would be advantageous.
(e) The list of views in the project manager should show so basic
property details like 'projection' and 'comments' in a way that you
don't have to enter the properties dialog box to see this detail. For
tables see the 'encoding' and 'comments' would be useful, and for the
maps 'comments'.
