Hi,

I have been using ogr2ogr quite a lot for importing data into Oracle. I consider it reliable, but it has some limitations and user should use it in a correct way. I am willing to have a try if I can get an excerpt of the original data.

	Hello, Kornel.

	I do not trust ogr2ogr, I don't think it's a reliable tool.

How did you create the previous .sql file?

You can try to use Sql Developer as I showed in a previous screenshot to create a new .sql script. You can download Sql Developer from:

	http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html

If you have problems to install Sql Developer and create the .sql file, you can also try this:

	- download this file to your PC and unzip it:

	http://www.prodevelop.es/files/fm/public/downloads/sdoins.zip

	- you'll find a JAR file. Double-click on it and a little dialog will appear. If it does not appear, open a Linux terminal (or a DOS terminal in Windows) and move to the download folder and type:

	java -jar ./sdoins.jar

	- write the correct data in the boxes (for the max. number of rows, you can write 7000 for example) and click "Extract". Then choose a destination file (for example out.txt) and click OK. After a few seconds, the file will be created.

	- compress the txt file in a ZIP file and send it to the list.

	Regards,
	Juan Lucas Domínguez Rubio

	hello,

	thanks for your help.

	I´ve tested the sql-command:
	SELECT SDO_UTIL.GETNUMVERTICES(c.SHAPE) FROM PLAN.GRUEN_POLY c WHERE
	c.OBJECTID = 57

	result:
	SDO_UTIL.GETNUMVERTICES(C.SHAPE)
	--------------------------------
	                              77

by the manual export i had see this additional message:
	ogr2ogr -f ''ESRI Shapefile'' GRUEN OLY.shp
	OCI....../.... at ORA12.rgu.muenchen.de -sql "select * from plan.GRUEN_POLY"
ERROR 1: ORA-04043: Object UAGRUND.DIST_TEXT_SMW is not available in
