[Gvsig_english] QUESTION gvSIG 1.9 (BN 1253) -- Is Java backward compatible?

Hi,

Simple question that I have asked before.

Is Java backward compatible?

If new version of Java is released in a year can gvSIG run on this, or is it 
only capable of running on the version it was developed on?

If NO, how can the core routines of gvSIG run correctly on the latest version 
of Java, as has been done in the OADE Version?
