[Gvsig_english] gvSIG and RAM-usage

Dear list, 
dear developers,

it is possible to change the possible RAM-usage of gvSIG by editing the
gvSIG.sh-file.
My question: is there a general rule, what value one should use depending
the size of the RAM in your machine? Limitations (from the java-side etc.)

What happens, if gvSIG needs more memory than is specified in the
gvSIG.sh-file?
