Many thanks for this, gvSIG works differently from the software that I
normally use. In gvSIG the datum isn't important until transformations are
carried out, so you don't set a datum for a new project, only a coordinate
system. As you mention, gvSIG transformations are of good accuracy.
I think the shift between ETRS89 and WGS84 is about half a metre at present,
which is not something that I need to worry about!
