[Gvsig_english] GvSig connection to Access Database

Hi Sara,

if you want to use latitude and longitude values in a CSV file to be
recognized by gvSIG, you should have them as a decimal value in decimal
degrees (not degrees, minutes and seconds).

The decimals separator to be used will depend on the language you select
in the "Regional configuration" option. "English" configuration usually
uses "." and "Spanish" uses ",". Make sure that the decimal separator
you use is not the same than the field separator in the CSV. Normally
with the regional configuration in English you will not have problems
with the field separator.

About using decimal degrees, you can find more information on:

https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/degrees-minutes-seconds-to-degrees.html

To load the CSV in gvSIG you must load it as a layer, and in the "Add
layer" dialog, access to Properties button.
It adjusts the values of regional configuration and fields separator as
it corresponds, and you have to press on "Preview".
When you see the preview table correctly, in the "Geometry" tab select
"Columns with values for X, Y, Z", and select the field Longitude for X
and Latitude for Y.

I attach an example of a CSV file with geographic coordinates if you
want to check it.

Let us know if it works.

Best regards,
   Mario
