[Gvsig_english] v1.9 alpha on Ubuntu 8.10

Hi Colin,
Following Marcus, you have to install in your homedir.
After, simplest (than managing AWT_TOOLKIT) is to turn off the visuals
effects in "system=>pref=>apparence" 
gvSIG is running without any problem.
For the icon, you can create yours, pointing on
home/xx/gvSIG_1.9/bin/gvSIG.sh
