Hi Marcel,

Just out of curiosity, because I am aware it is probably not the best solution for you, I am wondering if you could use a Linux distribution?
Ubuntu, for example, is a Linux distribution, which is really easy to use and, naturally, is open-source (http://www.ubuntu.com/).
You could use a software to run Ubuntu on top of Mac.
In other words, something like Virtualbox (http://www.virtualbox.org/).
Virtualization is not always the best solution but, for the time being, it could be useful for you to run the gvSIG's 1.9 Linux version into Mac (without having to dual-boot your computer).

It is a bit depressing to not having a Mac's version of gvSIG 1.9, which will be supported by the gvSIG's Spanish team.
But the same applies to Microsoft Vista and Windows 7.
Developing a software on all platforms is a nightmare for all developers.
For example, many software which "officially" run on all platforms have, actually, many problems.
For instance, Gimp, runs on Windows and Mac but if you want to get the best out of you'd better to use it on Linux.
Not only that, on Linux, Gimp runs better on a Gnome platform instead of a Kde one...
Grass, for Gis' users, at present, is supposed to run on Windows but the Linux version is much better than the Windows one.
On top of that, many features of Grass are only available for Linux and Mac's users.

Best regards,

Silvio
