Well I should talk with the admins but I don't think the portal is
technically prepared at this time to be opened for anyone to register.

This is a drawback, and we can think on exploring other solutions like
OSOR.eu hosting, the OSGeo wiki or, as you say, wikidot.

As Juan Lucas said, today is a local holiday in Valencia, so we should
be a little bit patient and wait next week to discuss that, as I
proposed, on an IRC chat, for example.
